I want to start by saying that I am grateful to be a part of the open source community with you all and look forward to continuing to work together to make impactful open source contributions even better in 2023. - Issue 41
Happy New Year! I can't believe it's already 2024, yet FOSDEM 2023 feels so long ago. Either way, anecdotally, I feel like we, as a community, made some impactful contributions:
- Sentry gave $500,000 to open source maintainers
- FOSS Funders is adding logos
- Found out how CVEs are scored and the potential impact on open source maintainers
- OSI work in developing an Open Source AI definition
- Joel Wasserman on lessons learned with Flossbank
- While Flossbank closed its doors, it paved the way for other platforms like Thanks.dev and StackAid. That's impact, in my opinion.
- Opensource.com community finds new life with the Open Source Initiative
- The OSI's senior policy directors Deb Bryant and Simon Phipps have been busy keeping track of policies affecting Open Source software mostly across the US and Europe
A lot more happened, but I can't fit it all in one issue.

Till next time.
